Creating a Shareable Link

A brief overview of how to share views using links in Opsview Monitor

Within various sections of Opsview Monitor, you will notice an arrow icon appear within the navigation bar, as shown below:

This icon is the 'Share' button, which allows you to share your customized view with other Users of Opsview Monitor.

For example, you may have modified the 'Problems' page to hide handled problems, and to only display CRITICAL Service Checks as shown below:

If you left this view, closed your browser and then re-opened the link, then all your custom filters would be lost. To ensure you can navigate straight to your custom view, we introduced the shareable filters button.

To share the view above, simply click on the share 'Arrow' icon, as outlined above. This will load a window containing a hyperlink which, when loaded, will display the page exactly as above (with up-to-date data, obviously!):

This filter can then be sent to any User of Opsview Monitor, who, after logging in, will be able to see the exact modified Problems view you created above.
