To share a Dashboard with other Users, you must share it with all members of a given Role. This means if you have a Role called 'NetworkAdmins' that contains 1000 Users, and you share a network-related Dashboard with the 'NetworkAdmins' Role, all 1000 Users will be able to add and view that shared Dashboard, with read-only access.
To share a Dashboard within Opsview Monitor, you must click on 'Share my Dashboard' within the 'Dashboard' drawer of the Dashlet side bar:
When clicked, this will load a modal window as shown below:
This window shows the Dashboards you have created, along with data on who that Dashboard is shared with (if it is checked, i.e. shareable), whether any Users of the Roles you have shared the Dashboard with are using your Dashboard, and who in that Role (which Users) have added it.
To share our new 'Hashtags' Dashboard, simply check it using the check box, and click on 'Select Roles', as shown below:
In the example above, I am going to share it with all Users of the Role 'HG Numbers Role':
Once 'Select' has been clicked, and the change applied via the 'Save' button, the window should have a row as below:
I can now log in with my User 'sam.marsh', who is a member of the 'HG Numbers Role', as below:
Once logged in as the User 'sam.marsh', I can navigate to 'My Dashboards', click on 'Add New' and have the ability to add the new 'Hashtags' Dashboard:
Once added, the shared Dashboard will be visible as shown below:
You will notice that the Dashlets cannot be deleted, cloned or configured ' only the 'refresh' icon is available, and there is also a padlock symbol in the Dashboard tab ' indicating it cannot be modified or renamed. Note: if the current user does not have CONFIGUREROLES, then the modal window with the list of shared dashboards will not list roles and will instead only have a checkbox to filter to the user's current role, or make the dashboard available to every other role.
