Ports

Description of ports used for Opsview Monitor

In the table below we list the TCP and UDP ports that are used by Opsview Monitor in the default setup:

Required for access to Opsview Monitor (alternatively, port 443 can be used)

Master: Listen (optional) on all interfaces.

apache

Can be used for access to Opsview Monitor when HTTPS has been configured with an appropriate certificate.

Master: Listen (optional) on all interfaces.

3000

opsview-web

Opsview Monitor web application.

Master: The default listen address is 0.0.0.0 (all interfaces). May be configured to listen on specific interfaces by changing the $bind_address in opsview.conf.

sshd

SSH server required for configuration on server and communication between master and slaves.

Master: Listen on all interfaces.
Slave: Listen on all interfaces. If you are using reverse SSH, the slave will tunnel its SSH process to a remote port on the master. These ports start from 25800 and above.

NSCA

Used to receive asynchronous check results from monitored systems. Only required if you have specifically chosen to use NSCA.

Master: Listen on 127.0.0.1. This port is SSH tunnelled to slaves.
Slave: Listen on all interfaces. This is for external hosts to send results back to the slave via NSCA.

mysql

MySQL server, stores configuration and/or historical data.

Master: Listen on all interfaces. MySQL server can be installed on separate servers
Slave: Not monitored.

Opsview Agent port

opsview-agent: This port allows you to remotely execute Nagios® plugins on other Linux/Unix machines.
Master: Listen on all interfaces.
Slave: Listen on all interfaces.

NetFlow

Required only for use with Network Analyzer module.

*Note: You may need to check your sFlow/NetFlow source device configuration for which ports to open.

Master: Listen on all interfaces.
Slave: Listen on all interfaces.
