Change temporary global settings for the Monitoring Engine

The second tab shown within the 'My System' tab is the 'Monitoring Engine' tab:

The 'Monitoring Engine' section contains four sub-sections:

  • Engine
  • Engine Options
  • Watchdog
  • Process Information

Engine

The Engine section allows you to view the status of the software, the version of the software, and also download a .tar.gz (zip file) containing a range of useful diagnostic information including a number of log files.

Engine Options

The Engine Options section allows users to set at a global-level the enabled/disabled state of a range of options, including whether Flap Detection is enabled for hosts/service checks.

Watchdog

The 'Watchdog' section displays the status of the Opsview Monitor master server, including uptime, data collected, status, load average and more.

Process information

The process information section displays the status, pid, uptime, memory and CPU statistics of each individual process that runs as part of Opsview Monitor. If you are encountering problems with your software, check here first to ensure everything is running. By default, Watchdog will continually restart the processes if they are stopped, however the processes will be shutdown when there is less than 2GB of free space on the Master server.
