To create a graph view based on Host Groups, click on the 'Configure' button within Graph Center and then click on 'Host Groups', as shown below:
Once clicked, you will be presented with a window similar to the one below:
The window above is split into two steps. First, you must choose the Hosts on which you wish to base your graph view. To do this, select a Host Group and then select the Hosts in the left selection box and click the 'right' arrow to add them into the right selection box, as shown below:
In the example above, we have selected four Hosts from the 'Linux Servers' Host Group. (You can add Hosts from different Host Groups).
Now that we have selected our Hosts, the 'Options' section's dropdown boxes will repopulate with Service Checks / Host Templates that only apply to the selected Hosts, as shown below:
In the above example, we can see there are only six Service Checks available to select (note, if a Service Check is not applied to all of the selected Hosts, it will still be displayed, however the graph for that Service Check will only display the Hosts who have the Service Check applied).
In our example, we want to view all 'Unix ..' Service Checks running on the selected four Hosts, so we have clicked on the three Unix Service Checks as below:
In the bottom right corner of the screen, Opsview Monitor shows 'Hosts: 2', which means only two of our selected Hosts contain the Unix Service Checks. Click 'Apply' and the new graph view is created:
Note: The legend only displays two hosts, kvmhost3 and nfs1, as they are the only hosts of the four selected that have a 'Unix *' Service Check.
