22.214.171.124 Bulk Edit Example: How to Bulk Edit Multiple Hosts
In this example we
want to add the Host template ‘Application –HTTP’ to 10 of our Hosts. To do
this, first we need to click on ‘Bulk edit’ within the ‘Settings > Hosts
Settings’ window. This button is located on the top task bar, to the right of
the ‘Add New’ button.
Click on the ‘Bulk edit’ button
Once we have clicked
the Bulk Edit button, the modal window will appear. In the right hand section
is a searchable list of all the Hosts within the Opsview Monitor system. At the
top is a free-text search box, and at the bottom is a label displaying the
number of Hosts currently selected. In our example we are going to select 10 Hosts
that have the word ‘opsera’ in their Host Title, as shown below:

use and label displaying that 10 Hosts are selected
As you can see from
the screen, we have searched for the word ‘opsera’ which has filtered the
list of our Hosts. We have then selected 10 Hosts by checking the checkbox next
to the Hosts. Finally, the counter at the bottom of the list has automatically updated to
reflect the number of Hosts selected.
Next, we will
configure the Host templates option. First, we will click the checkbox next
to ‘Host Templates’ which enables the relevant drop-down menus. Next, we will select ‘Add to
existing’ (as we want to add a new Host template), and finally we will select
the ‘Application –HTTP’ Host template from the drop-down menu (below
the ‘actions’ drop-down menu):

the action of ‘Add to existing.. Application – HTTP’ selected.
Clicking Submit applies the changes to the configuration. You will notice the Host list page will now display the
‘Modified Host’ section, showing the 10 Hosts that have been modified.
To apply the changes,
click on the ‘Reload’ button which will navigate through to ‘Settings >
