Acknowledgement’ option within a Host Group’s contextual menu will load a modal
window when clicked, which will look similar to the screen shown below:
The window allows you to select which Hosts and Service Checks they wish to acknowledge (and
thus convert into a ‘Handled’ status). This can be done on a Service Check by Service Check basis, or you can simply select ‘all’ (acknowledge all problem
Hosts and Service Checks within the given Host Group), or you can choose to acknowledge
only certain Service Checks based on their state, i.e. only acknowledge
CRITICAL Service Checks.
As covered in Section
“184.108.40.206.4. Acknowledgments”, only Hosts are not ‘UP’ or Service Checks that
are not ‘OK’ can be acknowledged.
The User can also
choose to send an acknowledgement Notification (‘Ack Notification’) from within
the modal window, which if checked will send a Notification to the appropriate Users
(i.e. those who are set up to be notified about the given Host/Service Checks).
